What type of bedding to use after a crib with an autistic child with sensory needs?

My daughter was diagnosed with PDD and dysfunction sensory integration. She processes many of their sensory needs by using his mouth. She always put toys and things in their mouth, but through the therapy has reduced the amount of time spent doing that and play for the purpose. However, we realize now that it has begun to bite the bars of his crib, it has become your way around the crib and a significant bit through to the bare wood. We took the crib away and put in a pack n play but that seems so small for a long term solution. Does anyone know of any beds for the transition from crib to bed, she is only 25 months and can not communicate with her, therefore put into full size bed, we had just called and that hurt. Please help me with ideas or suggestions. Thanks

My son has PDD NOS with sensory issues, and has just turned four. I waited until he was 3 1 / 2 to move in bed. I worry the same thing, which was to go out constantly and is difficult contact him before that. If possible, I would try to keep her daughter in a pack-n-play or crib, whenever possible. Ironically, my older son, that is "typical" was my crib chewer. I find white paint around the mouth and my crib looks horrible with all brands of teeth, but I thought that cribs are made of all non-toxic materials, so Let It Be (I tried to cover rail, but was able to pry them off). Once my son was too big for the crib (such as a child is very high to begin with) – he moved into a bed – I was pushed against a wall and has an extra long, Stringer extra height to the other side. Then I put a door through the door and put a baby monitor in the room. Really surprised us and will stay in his big bed …. but communication was very good then. Another thing your OT told me to try, get a blanket was weighted by birth – helps children in need sensory. Hope this helps!
